We are a group of Somatic Experiencing Practitioners (SEPs) from Egypt, Lebanon, Canada, USA, UK and Syria who came together in the Fall of 2023 in response to the escalating violence in Gaza.

We noticed a silence in the SEI (Somatic Experiencing International) community in response to this humanitarian catastrophe and on-going genocide in Palestine, and struggled to make sense of it in the context of a modality that is meant to respond to trauma.

In light of this, we wanted to create a space in which Somatic Experiencing students and clients can find SEPs that are aligned with a certain set of principles and values that center the dignity of Palestinian life.

Our focus and intention continues to center Palestinian life, and we also acknowledge that many communities around the world are facing violence, war, genocide, raising facism, deportation and increased targetting and surviellance. This includes, but is not limited to Sudan, Congo, Ukraine, Indigenous Nations around the world and the USA. We acknowledge that these struggles are interconnected and intertwined, and no one is free until we are all free.

While this directory centers the Palestinian struggle and resistance, the list of SEPs is for anyone impacted by the violence happening in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, their neighbours, as well as around the world. We acknowledge that with increased surviellance and repression, many people have been impacted and fear getting appropriate support if they stand against genocide. Sessions are confidential and non-emergency. Fees can be negotiated with your practitioner depending on your circumstances, some practitioners are also offering pro-bono.
